The channel
MegaloMedia is a finance and education YouTube channel that covers dense, information-heavy topics. At the start of our work together, it had 50K subscribers.
The problem
The retention diagnostic showed viewers dropping off mid-video, at exactly the points where dense concepts were explained without anything on screen to reinforce them. Those were the moments viewers were leaving.
What we changed
We applied our four-stage system.
- Diagnosed the drop-off. We mapped the mid-video dips to the moments where complex ideas lacked visual support.
- Rebuilt the cut. We restructured videos into clear chapters with on-screen breakdowns, turning dense topics into a flow viewers could follow.
- Re-cut the hook. Each video now leads with the concrete outcome or number before the explanation, so viewers know what they'll get from staying.
- Locked the cadence. A fixed publishing schedule plus thumbnail and title testing compounded the channel's reach.
The result
Over 7 months, MegaloMedia grew from 50K to 243K subscribers, a 4.86x increase.
What other education channels can learn
When a topic is complex, the edit has to do some of the explaining. Every important number, comparison and step should appear on screen. If your retention graph shows dips in the middle of your videos, look at what's on screen at those moments. Our guide to reading your retention graph shows how.
